Rituparna, Arpita team up again for Agnidev's next

His 3 Kanya is yet to release, but Agnidev Chatterjee has already pulled off a casting coup of sorts. His next, Mrs Sen, stars Rituparna Sengupta and Arpita Chatterjee in the lead.
This is the second time that the actors will come together after Rituparno Ghosh's Utsab. While Rituparna is all set to work with the director three times in a row, this film is Arpita's first with Agnidev. Talking about the storyline, Agnidev says, 'On a certain December morning, the ring of a telephone shatters the silence in the Sen household.'
Agnidev adds, 'Roma, who answers the call, is shocked to hear that her husband had met with a fatal accident in Malaysia and sunk into coma.Roma and Somnath are married for seven years and happen to be childless. When Roma reaches Malaysia, she learns about her husband's other wife, Reena, and their child. The wife was with him in the same car when the accident happened.'
Elaborating on this rivetting relationship story, penned by himself, Agnidev says, 'Even as she comes to terms with the situation, Roma is entrusted with the responsibility of her husband's eight-year-old son and the other Mrs Sen's autistic brother. Roma doesn't know whether to love or loathe the child. When Reena regains consciousness, she too learns about Roma's presence in Somnath's life. After her release from the hospital, Reena and Roma come face-to-face. Is grappling with infidelity an easier task than coming to terms with Somnath's death? This forms the crux of the story.'
While Rituparna has been roped in to play Roma, Arpita will play Reena. About repeating Rituparna in his films, the director says, 'Ritu is a brilliant actor. Besides, we share a great comfort level. Both Rituparna and Arpita are coming together for a film after Utsab. I've had a talk with Arpita, but she is yet to sign on the dotted line. I've sketched Reena's character keeping her in mind.'
Apart from the duo, Koneenica, Biplab and Subhasish are also part of the cast. Music will be scored by Indraadip Das Gupta. Shooting will begin in Malaysia around the Pujas.
