Rudranil replaces Ritwick in Balighawr

Arindam Sil’s latest film, Balighawr, which initially featured Ritwick Chakraborty in a pivotal role, will now see Rudranil Ghosh replacing him. The director, who is in Dhaka, revealed, “I feel Rudra is a brilliant actor and not just a comedian. He is one of the most under-rated actors we have in the industry. In this film, you will get to see him playing a professor of Dhaka University.”

Rudranil, who will be working with Sil after Byomkesh Pawrbo, said, “Arindamda had told me about the film long back.I am not bothered about the fact that someone else was supposed to play the role earlier. As an actor, I liked my character and the storyline. So I signed on the dotted line. I am happy to be part of this project now!” Considering Ritwick backed out from two of his films — Byomkesh and now, Balighawr, would Sil still be interested in casting him? “Why not? If the role demands...,” pat came his reply!
