Shaheb Chatterjee is excited about Gotro
Shaheb Chatterjee is excited about Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s Gotro, where he’s playing an important role. “I worked with the director duo years back in Mushkil Ashan, where I played the lead in one of the stories. And it was indeed a pleasure working with them in Gotro after so long,” he said.
Talking about his character, Shaheb said, “I play Anushua Majumdar’s son, Anirban, in the film.

Anirban, who lives abroad, shares a beautiful bond with his mother and is extremely concerned about her safety. He is a lot like what I am in real life, since I, too, share a lovely relationship with my mother. And the best part is that a photo of my father, who passed away years back, has been used in Gotro as that of Anirban’s father.”
Speaking about his experience working with Anushua, he said, “Anushuadi is like a mother on the sets — affectionate and loving. There was an emotional scene between us and we both ended up shedding tears without glycerine!”Shaheb will also be seen playing the lead opposite Arpita in Shiladitya Moulik’s next and in Anjan Chowdhury’s Chaya Surya, where Tapas Paul plays a major role. “I loved Shiladitya’s Sweater and his next is a romantic film,” he told us. We asked Shaheb, who sang playback in Kaushik Ganguly’s Jesthoputro, if he had got any more playback offers. “Prosenjit Chatterjee lip synced to my song, Amar Praner Pore Chole Gelo Ke, and people liked it. I’m happy that my album, Chader Hashi Badh Bhengeche, is also doing well. I am trying to focus on my singing too now,” said the actor, who is also part of Sujan Mukherjee’s play, Rani Creusa.
