Soumyajit Majumdar’s film is ‘for everyone who loves Kolkata’
Soumyajit Majumdar has completed shooting for the first schedule of Homecoming.
“It was truly inspiring to see the story come alive in this grueling first schedule of 11 long and hectic nights. It made the project extremely personal not only for me, but for the cast and crew as well. It was truly a homecoming for all of us and I can't wait to feel at ‘home’ again during the second schedule,” said the actor-turned-director.
He added, “I am a by-product of the youth arts community of Calcutta — that ’90s kid in school and college fests and then a part of the Kolkata youth theatre movement during my college days as a film student.

In my film, I wanted to tell the story of the city’s youth arts community, of the independent artists of today. Homecoming is an emotional and personal film for me because I come from a theatre background myself. This is a film for everyone who loves Kolkata.”
