Director Ajitava Barat is all set for his debut feature film and the shoot of will be wrapped up by the third week April. The film, titled Bhoote Biswas Koren?, is a horror flick, an anthology of three different stories. While
Sreelekha Mitra and Shilajit Majumder are playing two central characters, Anindya Pulak Bandopadhyay is also a part of the film.
Ajitava shared that Shilajit is playing the character of Proban Chatterjee, a director and Sreelekha will be seen as Rusha.
Without divulging much, the director said, “Several types of films are being made in the Bengali film industry. Family drama, thrillers and hardcore commercial movies are taking centre stage. Despite that, I found a lacking in the number of horror movies. But if you see, there is no dearth of horror stories in Bengali literature. From
Rabindranath Tagore to Tarashankar Bondopadhyay and Sharadendu Bondopadhyay — notable novelists have written several stories on this genre. So, I decided to debut with a horror,” Ajitabha added.
The shoot of the film has started and will go on till April 22. It’s being shot at majorly three locations – Kolkata, Bolepur and North Bengal. “I am really excited to finish the project and I am sure this will be hailed as an important film in the industry,” Ajitava added.
