If you thought their legal wedding was a lavish affair, wait for the next few weeks, as Tollywood’s IT couple plans a series of parties leading up to a grand social marriage ceremony on May 11. The band, baaja, baraat will be held at the opulent Bawali Rajbari, with separate ceremonies for sangeet, mehndi and cocktails before the actual wedding on May 11. “For each occasion, I’ve to decide on the clothes and the look. I have to do the same for Raj (Chakrabarty) too. From the decorations, to the menu — everything has to be fixed up,” said
Subhashree Ganguly.
What about the actual wedding on May 11, we ask her. “I have not started shopping for the big day, but only ordered a customised red Benarasi with matching accessories from Sabyasachi. I had a few meetings with him and he is working on it. I will wear traditional jewellery and Brindadi (Sirkar) is herself designing the goyna, keeping my taste in mind. The gold jewellery will be intricate and traditional, as I love that. Sayantan and Asish will do my makeup and hair respectively. I will be a traditional Bengali bride wearing chandan. Raj too will be in a dhoti-panjabi, but he hasn’t decided where he will buy the set from,” said Subhashree, adding, “I’ve played a bride on screen at least eight-nine times, but now, when it is for real, I am realising that there is so much to do.”
Even as the couple goes around planning the celebrations, they seem to be missing each other every moment. “Raj called me five-six times on his way to the airport before leaving for north Bengal. He is extremely caring and knows how to make me feel like a princess,” she added.
