Subhasish speaks on Chinmoy Roy's importance in his career
As Chinmoy Roy is no more, Bengali cinema has lost the last of the iconic comedians. The veteran actor was counted among the legends like Tulsi Chakraborty, Rabi Ghosh and Bhanu Bandyopadhyay and Jahar Roy. Like all his co-actors, Subhasish Mukhopadhyay too can’t believe his Chinu Kaka has left us.
“I was shocked to hear the news. On Sunday night Bijoy called me.

He was with Chinu Kaka when he breathed his last. He was his long-time associate. I had called Chinu Kaka’s son Tony as well,” said the seasoned actor.
He is also forever in debt to Chinmoy Roy for giving him Tenida’s role in the 2011 film based on Narayan Gangopadhyay’s novel ‘Charmurtir Abhijan’: “It was a dream role for me. I couldn’t believe when he offered me the role. I am forever thankful to Chinu kaka for giving me the opportunity to play Tenida.”
Subhasish always kept in touch with the veteran actor. He even used to visit Chinmoy Roy at his Golf Green residence or talk to him over the phone.
