“A bunch of films will be made in which Bumbada will don the producer's role apart from being the creative advisor. All these films will be made with a wider audience in mind and with proper production planning. We are starting the journey with our film. The seed of the story was sown by Bumbada and we lapped it up as he strongly feels for the mainstream world, having almost single-handedly guided the industry since the '90s,“ informed Abhijit. He added, “Though our first film, Shudhu Tumi, starring Prosenjit and Koel Mallick, was mainstream, it was different from the usual main stream films of that time.
After years, we are again doing a film which is aimed at the larger audience, beyond the plexes.“
According to Prosenjit, the Bengali film industry is not going through an excel lent phase. “Though many good films are happening, we need to make several more films with stronger content.
Even though I'm not acting in these films, I'm actively involved in them,“ he said. Sudheshna, who is busy with the is busy with the film's pre-produc tion work, said that both Subhashree and Soham laughed their head off throughout the script reading session. Revealing more, she said, “The film is about a flirt called Rahul, who is back in India after staying in America for six years, and Gunjan, his next door neighbour. They are childhood buddies. The film shows the journey of their friendship and how things take a turn after Rahul's marriage is fixed. While Subhashree will have a girlnext-door appearance, Soham will don a funny look.“
The film will go on the floors from mid-March.
