Sushant Singh Rajput’s love affair with Kolkata goes back a few years. In 2014, he shot for Dibakar Banerjee’s Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!, set in Kolkata in 1940s. He was back in the city to promote the film, and later came with another movie, Raabta. Now, four years later, the actor is expected to return for one more shoot — the Hindi remake of The Fault in Our Stars (2014).
Sushant, who on his Kolkata trip would often try out “six-course meals” that had maachh-bhaat and mishti doi among other things, also tried picking up a few Bengali words. The actor, who said he felt like a Bengali, even expressed his desire to stay back for long. Now, looks like, his wish will soon come true. Said a source close to the unit, “In September, shoot for the film will be held in Jharkhand, following which the team will come to Kolkata. A part of the film will be shot on a train and permissions have been sought for it.” The film marks the directorial debut of casting director Mukesh Chhabra and stars newcomer Sanjana Sanghi alongside Sushant. Based on John Greene’s bestselling novel of the same name, Josh Boone’s film stars Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort. The novel is about a 16-year-old cancer patient who meets a cancer survivor and what life holds for them.
