Taarkata explores crime, memory and dark humour

Web series Taarkata directed by Samik Roy Chowdhury is set to bring together crime, action and dark humour, revolving around an ex-cop who returns to his hometown to investigate a mysterious death linked to his past. The series also signals Meiyang Chang’s debut in Bengali content. The first look of the series got revealed today. Vikram Chatterjee plays Agni, a once-celebrated cop now struggling with amnesia and personal demons, while Priyanka Sarkar essays the role of Chhanda, a composed professional grappling with the emotional realities of death. Meiyang appears as Dodo, a seemingly progressive figure whose darker traits gradually surface. The series also features Joydip Mukherjee, Satyam Bhattacharya and Ayush Das in key roles. Speaking about the project, Vikram said the show aims to present a world that feels familiar yet unexplored for Bengali audiences, adding that collaborations and the ensemble cast are among its key highlights.
