‘Tarikh’ wins big at Los Angeles Film Awards

When her film ‘Tarikh’ recently won the National Award director Churni Ganguly was a bit aggrieved that it wasn’t allowed to run for more than 5 days at the Kolkata multiplexes. However, despite the harsh treatment, ‘Tarikh’ continues to win laurels at international cinema. The latest being three awards at the prestigious Los Angeles Film Awards 2019.
The categories in which the ‘slice-of-a-life drama won awards are Best Song, Best Editing and Best Narrative Feature.It’s not often you get the chance to represent your country on international platforms and when you get the chance it’s indeed a moment of proud and honour.
Churni Ganguly’s ‘Tarikh’ tends to focus on the positive outcomes of social media along with addressing issues of intellectualism, loneliness, and relationships. With a stellar cast of Saswata Chatterjee, Ritwick Chakraborty and Raima Sen, the film has received appreciation from all corners.
‘Tarikh’ definitely demands a watch - not because it reminds you of death, but because it actually reminds you how important every living moment is…how important it is to live fully within your fixed ‘timeline’ than being immortal.
