The first look of Aneek Chaudhuri’s film ‘A Sonnet to the hushed times’ is out! And, the first look of Aneek’s silent ode to
Charles Chaplin is indeed impressive.
The leading actors in this film are Avijit De and Usha Banerjee. The film has been captured and directed by city filmmaker Aneek Chaudhuri whose films have traveled worldwide in the recent past.
‘A Sonnet to the hushed times’ is a film that pays homage to the master auteur Charles Chaplin and the silent era. Most importantly, the feature-length film has a flexible duration and can last up to more than two hours as well.
Speaking about his film, Aneek says, “This film is a very personal affair and I am not looking forward to any kind of monetary gains with this film. This is more like a tribute to someone as great as Chaplin and other creators of the silent era. We are relating the era with today’s real-life scenario.”
Aneek Chaudhuri has been working relentlessly to revive
Silent Cinema and this is altogether an effort to glorify Chaplin’s films and focus on the depth of their characters. ‘A Sonnet to the Hushed times’ is likely to be a film where the characters of Chaplin’s films are dealing in the real world and even struggling to find a new mode of occupation as talkies have superseded the silent films.
Meanwhile, Aneek’s last film ‘Jharokh’ is currently doing its festival rounds. The silent film speaks on the difference between ‘need’ to seek escapism and ‘desire’ to seek escapism.
