Video: The inspiration behind Kaushik Ganguly’s ‘Nagarkirtan’

Kaushik Ganguly’s ‘Nagrkirtan’, set to hit the theatres on February 15, has already raised the curiosity bar among the movie buffs and why not? Last year Riddhi Sen became the youngest National Award winner for this film only. But how the people who became the true inspiration for Kaushik Ganguly to churn out such an out of the box film are surviving in a society like this? Will ‘Nagarkirtan’ change their lives forever?
One transgender among the 19 worked in the film has a firm belief, after watching ‘Nagarkirtan’ people will start thinking differently: “We will find a place in people’s heart.This is the first time Bengali cinema will see a film like this. Yes, there’s a great joy to be a part of this film but, still there are limitations in the society. We also have the right to live in this society. We also want to lead our life in the mainstream.”
