Amitabh Bachchan will attend the inaugural ceremony of the 28th edition of the Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF), set to start on December 15. Not only the Bollywood superstar but his wife, veteran actress Jaya Bachchan will also grace the inaugural ceremony of the event. The 8-day film fest will run till December 22. For the unversed, in 2019, The Bollywood icon had skipped the inaugural ceremony of KIFF due to his health conditions.

She has her own niche of audiences who eagerly wait for her film releases and on November 25 Rituparna had the theatrical release of two of her films – Ranjan Ghosh directed ‘Mahishasur Marddini’ and Samrat Sharma’s ‘Prosenjit Weds Rituparna’. Interestingly, these two films belong two different genres. While ‘Mahishasur Marddini’ is an apology to all the wrongs being done against women, ‘Prosenjit Weds Rituparna’ is more of a romantic-comedy. The seasoned actress is equally excited just like fans and plans to attend both the films’ premiere shows.

Ritabhari Chakraborty recently met Varun Dhawan at the International Film Festival of India inaugural ceremony and the actress is super excited not only for performing at the event but also meeting such a ‘gentleman’ like Varun. She took to her Instagram handle to share a backstage photo with the Bollywood star and wrote, “Backstage with @varundvn ❤️ He is sweet, a killer performer and such a gentle man! Wish the world was full of more people like you VD. A true star and an amazing human being. Love and only love. We are all looking forward to Bhediyan.” Varun was quick to respond to this beautiful post as he commented, “Thank u was great meeting u.”

Atanu Ghosh’s next film ‘Aaro Ek Prithibi’ was supposed to release on December 2, but the makers have now delayed the theatrical release of the film. However, the new release date hasn’t yet been announced.In the next two months a number of big releases including Bengali, Hindi and Hollywwod are awaiting. There’s also the Kolkata International Film Festival in December. So, the makers decided to push the release date for a better screen time. The film sees Bangladeshi actress Tasnia Farin, Kaushik Ganguly, Anindita Bose and Shaheb Bhattacherjee among others in key roles.

Eken Babu is all geared up for his return in the sixth season titled ‘Eken Babu Ebar Kolkatay’. The new season will release this Christmas while the quirky detective will solve the mystery behind a serial killing. This season shows Eken Babu in Kolkata after traveling across the country solving various mysteries and that’s not the only special thing in this season. Anirban Chakrabarti, our very own Eken Babu is super excited as he says, “Even after six seasons, Eken is a character that I will always love playing, but the challenge is that you have to bring some change, some freshness to the character with each passing season while keeping the true essence of the character alive"
