Richa Sharma is keeping quite busy these days. The model-turned-actress is hopeful that the audience will get back to theatres once good films releases. “Watching a film on a big canvas has its own charm and I am sure the audience will get back to the theatres once we provide them with good content. The fear of the third wave is still there but I am sure we will overcome this soon,” said Richa.
Talking about working with Raajhorshee De in back-to-back films, Richa said, “Raajhorshee is a sorted director who gives a lot of freedom to his cast members. He is super cool on the sets which help us to perform better. He pushed back Maya’s shoot as I had health issues- so as a director he is supportive and accommodative too.”
Richa who plays a politician Shamia Zafar Ali in Maya is excited to share the screen with
Kamaleswar Mukherjee in this film. “Kamal da (Kamaleswar) is a wonderful human being. With him around in a scene, I used to be super confident. The way he praised me in my first shot made me happy,” said Richa, who is also part of the film Abar Kanchenjunga. “The film is a tribute to
Satyajit Ray and I am happy to be part of it. I play Surita, a schoolteacher who is smart and at the same time homely. The character has a lot of shades. I learned how to ride a scotty for this film,” informed the actress.
Richa is also part of the Hindi film, Separate Sky, where she plays Ruksana Chowdhury, a professor. “This love story revolves around a Muslim lady professor and a Hindu student against the backdrop of a student unrest,” said Richa, who completed shooting for a music video of a song sung by
Yasser Desai.
