Even though he was a student of English, he loved to read in his mother tongue. “That’s probably the reason why thrillers and treasure hunts have always interested me while making films,” he added.
So, when he started making films, Sayantan would try to imagine those characters and situations from a cinematic perspective. He was 16 or 17-years old from when he started making short films and these ideas came to him since then.
His latest film, Sagardwipey Jawker Dhan, was born out of similar thought processes. Those images have turned into the visual effects and screenplay of the film. Sayantan said the film is a visual extravaganza and the Bengali audience will love it. The VFX was needed for the story and is not just a gimmick, he said.
In the film, a group of scientists set off on a quest to find Red Mercury, a mythical chemical compound, that can help solve the world’s fossil fuel crisis and save the life of a little girl.
