Bangla rock band set to release new single on major online music platforms

Bangla rock band Goshai Gang has decided to release the audio and video of their latest single, Aaj Raat, which they shot before the lockdown. The idea of the song is based on judgement day. It is the day when one has to face the truth. So, the song asks what if the day is today.
The genre of this song is modern blues rock. A catchy chorus peppered with saxophone and guitar solos makes this song interesting."Writing the hook line or the chorus for a song is probably the trickiest part and Aaj Raat has the tightest chorus that I have written. The chorus goes like this - Aaj raat, sesh raat, kaal raat. Cholbe na kono ojuhaat!" said Saurav Goshai, vocalist and lyricist of the band.
This song will be released across all major music streaming platforms on June 16. "Initially, we were a little sceptical about experimenting with this track and wanted to keep it bluesy. However, once we heard the mix done by our good friend, Anindit Roy, we loved it," said Arijit, bassist of the band.
If the truth is bitter, it is hard to accept and we tend to be in a state of denial. Aaj Raat lifts the veil of denial and asks us to be brave and face the truth. "Our primary sound is rock but in this song we have fused a little bit of funk and modern pop elements. We are hopeful that our listeners will love this arrangement," said Swagato, guitarist of the band.
Experimenting with the form and sounds made the song a little more innovative than what they initially set out to do. The band is confident that audience will lap up their hard work. "I have always pushed the band to explore newer sounds. Aaj Raat could have been a straight, full-on rock song as the lyrics are also a little dark. But we thought of giving it a surprise twist and introduced pop elements like a saxophone solo and pop bridge part," said Sayantan, keyboardist, programmer of the band.
