Bishwajit Ghosh dedicates his new Bengali single to Durga Puja

Bishwajit Ghosh who recently came up with the song ‘Hum Ek Hai’ featuring popular celebrities like Juhi Chawla, Shakti Kapoor, Divya Dutta, Archana Puran Singh, Rannvijay Singha and others spreading peace and positivity during the lockdown has now released a Puja song. Being a Bengali and since he’s originally from Kolkata, this song ‘Joy Maa Durgaar Joy’ is dedicated to the Durga Puja.
The music video features Debarun Swaraj, Tanushree Roy and it’s beautifully rendered by Bishwajit Ghosh, composed by Nilanjan Sen and lyrics have been penned by Suman Mickey Chatterjee.Check out the video song here:

Speaking about his Puja song, the singer says the main reason behind this song for Durga Puja is he wanted to create an original song in Bengali for quite a long time. “Fortunately I connected with the composer of this song Nilanjan Sen recently and we immediately connected and planned to work on multiple Bengali projects. That’s when this idea of creating a song for Durga Puja came and it actually happened just a few weeks back. Personally, being a bong myself, I always look forward to the Durga Puja festival every year and so it’s very exciting for me to make my Bengali debut song dedicated to the festival of Durga Puja. It was really fun to work remotely with this new team, where my composer was in Bangalore, myself in Mumbai and the lyricist along the audio production team in Kolkata. I hope the audience can connect with the song since the vibe of the song gives a total festive feel.”

So, being a Bengali how does he celebrate Durga Puja? “Since my childhood I have loved being around my family and friends during the festive season. The fun, food and fervour that Durga Puja brings is something that can’t be replicated. I enjoy pandal hopping, meeting friends, praying and feasting around on food and sweets. The magic that festivals create is getting people together and sharing their experiences from this day,” adds Bishwajit.
He further shared with ETimes how the entire song was shot and recorded. “It was a smooth ride. The video was shot in two parts where in my portion was shot in Mumbai in a recording studio featuring me as the singer and the rest of the portion was shot across various parts of West Bengal state for the storyline. As I said this project was conceptualised just a few weeks ago, that’s why meeting the time deadline was quite challenging but the director and the editors did a great job. We were sure about not to lose the essence of the song and we wanted to be sure of what we were creating.
