Three energetic young lads from Diamond Harbour, almost 50 km from Kolkata, have brilliantly infused the sound of two classical guitars with a cajon and some assorted percussions to develop a serene form of music which is completely different from what the city musicians from their generation are creating over the past few years.
Their three member band is Dot Three which creates a unique bond between Anik Bhattacharya, Shambo k Jana and
Suman Dey.
What’s beautiful about their instrumental music is its inspiration from Flamenco, folk and last but not the least Hindustani Classical and the simplicity it can inflict for an evening of repose.
‘Dot Three’ plans to release their 4-song debut EP ‘Hiraeth’ on June 23 at TopCat CCU with a concert along with a performance from another band ‘Rasia’.
