Watch: Fans mourn as KK’s only Bengali song from 2011 resurfaces online

While tributes pour in for KK who passed away on May 31 here's an interesting trivia for all his Bengali fans. he recorded only one Bengali song back in 2011, that too, with his long time friend Jeet Gannguli’s composition. The melodious track was for Soumik Chattopadhaya’s film ‘Faande Poriya Boga Kaande Re’. Composer Jeet Gannguli was one happy man for having managed to take their long friendship a step further with this musical alliance, the song titled ‘Akasher neele meghe dhaka tara khunje paoa’.
A day after his tragic death, the beautiful song resurfaced online as several fans mourned KK’s death.

KK did wonders with his magical voice to the romantic song which had a Latino flavour while the lyrics were by Prasen. The versatile singer initially had doubts because he didn’t know how to speak Bengali but later Gannguli convinced him and the end result was a masterpiece. The ace composer later revealed that it was as if the melody was made for KK. He was the first and the last choice when it came to the song.
Incidentally, KK did sing for yet another Bengali film in 2019, the Dev starrer ‘Password’. However, it was a Hindi song titled ‘Aye Khuda’ and the soulful song was composed by Savvy while lyrics were by Soham Majumder.
Although the versatile singer didn’t sing any other Bengali song, in 2021 he came as a special guest at a popular Bengali music reality show’s grand finale and won everyone’s hearts.

Singer KK died hours after a concert in Kolkata on Tuesday and He was brought dead to a nearby hospital in Alipore.
