Now, after the singer’s tragic demise, Srijit Mukherji has revealed that the song is going to be very special. It’s been written by Gulzar and sung by KK. It is also perhaps will be his last recorded film song.
Srijit still remembers his first meeting with the late singer and has shared that KK was so happy to hear that his songs had been with Srijit through many ups and downs of his life. Srijit further mentioned KK as a humble, modest, and down-to-earth person. He also feels one can’t measure an artist by his songs, instead, it is the impact of the songs that stay with all.
Srijit then stated that he’s dying to release and share the song with all and hopefully it’s coming out soon.

On Wednesday, the filmmaker had shared a video of KK performing Maachis song Chhod Aaye Hum just for acclaimed lyricist Gulzar when they were recording a song for Srijit’s film. He captioned the post, “I just met him last month for the 1st time and felt that we'd known each other for years. The chatter wouldn't just stop. And I was so moved to see the love he had for Gulzar saab. He said he stepped into this world with Chhor aaye hum and sang it as a tribute. Farewell KK, my newest friend. Will miss you. I wish we could have had more sessions on music and food and cinema.”
