It’s Halloween today and we’re sure you have a party planned with pals. Even if you’re at home alone, there’s no reason not to get into the spooky mood. Curl up on the sofa, grab the cola and snacks and chill out with these super-scary flicks!
The terrifying film, ‘Us’ has been described as ‘tension-filled’ and ‘chilling’ and it lives up to every bit of that.The film is a girl living with her parents, who wanders off close to her home to find hall of mirrors called Vision Quest. Lupita N'yongo is there for 15 minutes, but that is when something talks over her. Cut to adulthood, she’smarried and has kids and suddenly one day she sees doppelgangers and has t protect herself and her family.
The thriller that earlier released in 1978 had all the chills you can think of and the reboot didn’t fall short either. Starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle, it was about the slasher Michael Myers, who has been institutionalised for 40 years, escaping custody and going on a killing spree on Halloween night.
The dark and animated musical 'Corpse Bride', is a superb film from Tim Burton. With Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter, it follows the tale of a young man, Victor, who’s set to marry a woman. Circumstances see him ended up in the world of the dead and he gets married to a corpse. Through the film, he tries to get home to his own while also trying to help the corpse bride find her killer.
'Sleepy Hollow', the Gothic fantasy film had beautiful and dark settings. In it, Ichabod Crane, played by Johnny Depp, sees a detective who is sent from New York to Sleepy Hollow, investigate a series of murders committed by the Headless Horseman. Also starring Christina Ricci, it takes viewers through a chilling ride as the Horseman’s head count continues to rise.
If there is a list of horror movies, how can this one not be mentioned? The slasher film written and directed by Wes Craven, is about the evil spirit of slain child murderer Freddy Krueger, who seeks revenge.The film revolves around teenagers being stalked in their subconscious and killed by him in their sleep. Who can forget Freddy clawy hands? An absolute classic!
