Burglary scare: Ruben Dias and Maya Jama boosts security at Cheshire home; 24-hour guards deployed

Ruben Dias was recently spotted in public with partner Maya Jama, marking their first appearance together since the burglary at their Cheshire home. The outing came shortly before his team prepared for a major European fixture.

Latest reports say that the couple have boosted their security at Cheshire home after the burglary.

January break-in left couple ‘devastated’

The burglary reportedly took place in January at their 4 million mansion in Cheshire. At the time, Ruben Dias was reportedly away playing a match against Galatasaray. Maya Jama was in South Africa filming Love Island: All Stars. The couple were described as ‘devastated’ after returning to find their home ransacked.


Reports suggest that several valuable items were stolen, including designer clothing, jewellery, and electronic devices.

Security upgraded with 24-hour protection

Following the break-in, the couple decided to strengthen security at their residence as reported by Daily Mail website.


They reportedly hired a Strongbox security team to provide round-the-clock protection and the guards are said to be stationed within the property grounds. This comes despite the home already having advanced security systems in place.




A source told The Sun, "The couple asked a security firm to come in and assess the property and the suggestion was that having live-in round the clock guards would act as a great deterrent,"


The source added, "Lots of footballers have private fitness coaches, chefs, drivers – and now are adding security guards to the list."

Police investigation into burglary continues

Cheshire Police confirmed they received a report of the burglary on January 28. A spokesperson stated to the Daily Mail, "Shortly after 11.10pm on Wednesday 28 January, police received reports of a burglary at an address in Woodbrook Road, Alderley Edge."


They further added, "Officers attended and found entry had been made to the property and a number of items had been stolen." The investigation remains ongoing and authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward.

Relationship timeline draws public interest

Ruben Dias and Maya Jama’s relationship has attracted significant attention. The pair are believed to have first met at the European Music Awards in November 2024.


Their romance was later confirmed during a public appearance at a Baller League event in April. Since then, they have been spotted several times together at events and outings.

In the recent outing, the observers noted that the couple appeared calm and they seemed to be trying to move forward after the burglary incident. During the outing, an umbrella with the words “F**cking Rain” caught attention and it reportedly shielded the footballer as they walked together.
