However, this is not a stand-alone case; there is more to this hairy saga than meets the eye.BEETHOVEN'S CURLSTheir musical terrains were starkly different, but both of them are considered the master craftsmen of melody . Mozart's music veered more towards crystallized perfection, whereas Beethoven's style is bold, underlining his penchant to take risks. But at the auction where Mozart's curly locks were sold at huge amount, Beethoven's hairy strands fetched around £12,500. Not a small figure, but lesser than what was paid for the Austrian genius' hair.
LINCOLN'S LOCKSIn January this year, a lock of Abraham Lincoln's hair fetched $25,000, which was apparently removed from the former US president's head by Surgeon General Joseph Barnes shortly after he was assassinated. The name of the buyer was not revealed, nor was his intentions; but we can only assume the Abe's lock of historic hair will wind up on a classy shelf somewhere.
