'Euphoria' Season 3 trailer EDITED; Sydney Sweeney's controversial Cassie scene deleted amid backlash

Amid strong backlash, HBO has reportedly edited its Euphoria Season 3 promotional trailer and removed a scene featuring Sydney Sweeney's character, Cassie.

The trailer, titled “Weeks Ahead,” was reportedly taken down after the uproar over an objectionable, sexually explicit shot of Sweeney’s character Cassie. Netizens and fans on social media slammed the makers for featuring the actress in suggestive baby-themed attire.




Various reports state that the clip was deleted and later reuploaded with a the visual alterations of nudity and to reduce the transparency of the outfit. However, despite the edit, the original version of the trailer continues to circulate online.

Amid the controversy surrounding the characers in Season 3 of the show, at the premiere, Sweeney teased a rather 'wild' version of her character. Speaking to ET, she said, “Cassie is a crazy character. She will do anything and at all cost to be famous this season and she makes a lot of very wild and interesting choices. In true Cassie fashion, she will not disappoint, for sure.”

Defending the character's career choice to be an Only Fans star, showrunner Sam Levinson said, "The storyline is meant to explore Cassie's personal struggles and the societal pressures that lead her to that decision."

Euphoria Season 3 premiered its first episode on April 12, 2026, and has been receiving a lot of negative reviews and backlash. Fans of the series have slammed the character arcs of the beloved drama that touched upon various aspects of troubled teen life in its earlier seasons.
