'High School Musical' has officially completed 20 years, and the milestone came with a generous dose of nostalgia. The beloved film, which premiered in January 2006, defined a generation and became a pop-culture phenomenon. To mark the anniversary, cast members Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel and Monique Coleman reunited at a special event held in California.
Ashley shares reunion moments from the celebration
Ashley Tisdale, who played the iconic Sharpay Evans, shared a series of pictures from the event on her Instagram Stories. She posed on an High School Musical-themed carpet alongside Monique Coleman and Lucas Grabeel. Keeping it simple and sweet, she wrote “Reunited,” accompanied by a red heart emoji.
She also posted a photo of a handmade sign that read “HSM 20, EHS,” featuring a paw print symbol representing the Wildcats.
In another fun throwback, Ashley tried on her pink graduation cap from High School Musical 3: Senior Year and wrote, “It still fits!”
She further shared glimpses from the venue and thanked Disney, writing, “Thank you @disney for this special moment.”
Jupiter joins in and steals the spotlight
Ashley’s four-year-old daughter, Jupiter Iris French, also attended the celebrations and stole hearts.
Jupiter looked adorable in a hot pink outfit with gold detailing and even posed inside Sharpay’s iconic pink golf cart from High School Musical 2. Reacting to the moment, Ashley captioned the post, “Not Jupiter upstaging me,” proving that the Sharpay energy still lives on — in the sweetest way.
A legacy that still feels fresh after 20 years
Along with the reunion posts, Ashley also shared throwback pictures that instantly transported fans back to the golden era. She wrote, “20 years ago we had no idea what this would turn into. I’m so grateful for what this movie has given me, and for the fans who made it what it is. To be part of something this iconic, that still has new fans discovering it today, is truly wild. It keeps growing in ways I never imagined. I love you, Sharpay. And let me just say… we’re still looking fabulous!”
When 'High School Musical' premiered on the Disney Channel, it drew 7.7 million viewers and became an instant hit. Its soundtrack went on to top the Billboard 200 and remained popular for years.
