Idris Elba is 2018’s Sexiest Man Alive

Ok, the verdict is out. People magazine has named Idris Elba as this year’s sexiest man alive. Interestingly, the 46-year-old British actor apparently didn’t believe when he was told about his selection.
According to reports, Idris, who is popular for his portrayal of Heimdall in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, jokingly told a publication that after being informed about his selection, he looked in the mirror and checked himself out.And then, he told himself, ‘Yeah, you are kind of sexy today’. Jokes apart, the actor said that it felt nice to be tagged sexiest man alive. He called it a surprise and an “ego boost”.
Idris is the 33rd man to be given the title and interestingly, the British actor is also a crowd favourite to be the next James Bond.
Recently, in an interview, the actor had recalled how, while growing up, he was far from sexy. He said that he grew up “tall and skinny” and studied in an all-boys school in London, where he played football, basketball, cricket, hockey and rugby. However, he also said that as soon as started growing a mustache, he suddenly became the coolest kid on the block.
