One of the most popular faces on the planet, one doesn’t need an introduction when talking about JLo. Her professional and especially her personal life has always been the talking point. Whether it’s her journey of humble beginnings growing up in the Bronx to super stardom, to her various men in her life. Her latest single chartbuster Dance Again made waves for its infectious sound, and risque video featuring her current boyfriend 25-year-old Casper Smart.
This song that was released in April earlier this year, is the lead single from her first greatest hits album titled Dance Again... the Hits, which was released when she turned 43 this week. Excerpts from an interview:
You began acting first and singing later. How do you strike a balance between acting and singing? I do miss doing films; I started my career as an actress and therefore would never ignore my passion towards acting. Singing is something I developed on so I keep honing my skills. And that’s why I quit American Idol as a judge to concentrate more on my singing career and my upcoming world tour to Dance Again and again and again!
What has been your inspiration for Dance Again? I love being able to collaborate with the producer RedOne again and Pitbull again. We had a great chemistry the last time, and it was like, ‘We’re going to have to do something again.’ And this was the perfect song. I love the message of the song. That when something bad happens, your life is not over. You have to get up. You’re gonna live. You’re gonna to be okay. You’re gonna dance again.
This is going to be your first greatest hits album. Why did take long for it to happen? You can’t decide such things. They happen at their own time. The moment On the Floor video was a hit; I was already on schedule to shoot Dance Again.
How difficult was it for you to judge American Idol? Being at American Idol since years have made me felt at home. The contestants and other fellow judges are like a family to me. All the contestants out there are incredible.
You are an extremely good dancer as well. Would you like to judge a dance reality show as well? At the moment, my focus is on my singing career, some music tours in Russia, Europe, Middle East in the month of November and post that some scripts in hand. So, currently thinking about judging a dance reality show is in a comsi comsa state; but it is worth a thought.
You’ve just turned 43. What other milestones would you like to achieve in your professional life? I am open to options. I have to still make it big in the music fraternity. I had put a lot of things on hold because of American Idol. Now it’s time for me to complete my unfinished business. I think performing with
Enrique Iglesias has already made me reach one milestone of success in my life. The rest let’s wait and watch.
