There had been ongoing rumors about the casting of
James Gunn’s upcoming film, ‘Man of Tomorrow’, though the famed director has officially set the record straight in his recent post. As per Gunn, he pointed out that the rumors about the ongoing casting were not true, and that he has not even met two of the actresses who are being named in the rumors.

As of late, there have been a lot of rumors ongoing about the casting for ‘Man of Tomorrow’, the upcoming sequel to ‘Superman.’ As per the rumors, the director had allegedly held casting calls for one of the roles in the film, and that
Marisa Abela,
Ella Purnell, and Adria Arjona had been screen tested. As per the rumors, the casting was being done for Maxima’s role.
However, taking to his social media platform, Gunn was quick to call out the rumors and cited that there should have been more fact-checking. He further added, “If someone had run these names by us, we would have said it's b*******. I've been friends with Adria for a long time since I cast her in the Belko Experiment. I'm a fan of both Marisa and Ella, but I've never met either of them. Crazy.”

Gunn also further shared that the casting for the upcoming superhero film is almost done, and only one character is left to be cast. He did not inform whether Maxima is left to be cast or some other character.
He also recently followed Arjona on his social media accounts, adding fuel to the fire.
As of right now, the upcoming film’s cast will be led by actors David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult, who will reprise their roles as Superman/Clark Kent and Lex Luthor, respectively. Lars Eidinger. Will play the role of the villain in the upcoming film, while Rachel Brosnahan, Skyler Gisondo, and Sara Sampaio are also set to return to the big screen.
‘Man of Tomorrow’ is slated for release sometime in July 2027.
