Jujutsu Kaisen, rising of the shield hero, and more: Check out 2025 anime releases

As 2025 approaches, anime fans have plenty to look forward to, with exciting new home media releases on the horizon, particularly for 'Jujutsu Kaisen' enthusiasts. Crunchyroll recently confirmed a much-awaited Blu-ray collection for 'Jujutsu Kaisen', which is slated for release on February 4, 2025. The collection revolves around the "Hidden Inventory / Premature Death" arc, or otherwise referred to as the "Gojo's Past" arc (Episodes 25-29), in which Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto first begin their journey. Set in 2006, the arc explores their time as second-year students at Tokyo Jujutsu High and their deep bond as best friends. The prologue to 'Jujutsu Kaisen' Season 2, which premiered on July 6, 2023, sets the stage for the events that will define both characters' future as mentioned by CBR.
The arc follows Gojo and Geto as they are tasked with escorting Riko Amanai, the Star Plasma Vessel, to Master Tengen. Their attempt to safeguard her puts them in harm's way when an anti-sorcerer tries to murder them, and this sets off a series of events that will end up pushing Gojo and Geto to opposite paths. The arc cements their fates—Gojo as the most powerful sorcerer in the world, and Geto as a corrupted spell-user. The bonus features on this Blu-ray version would be three art cards with Gojo, Geto, and Toji Fushiguro, promotional videos, and the textless versions of the opening and ending songs. Special bonus features also include the opening theme "Ao no Sumika" by Tatsuya Kitani and the ending theme "Akari" by Soushi Sakiyama. Not only are the fans of 'Jujutsu Kaisen' in for a treat this February but also 'Rising of the Shield Hero' Season 3 Limited Edition Blu-ray, slated for February 25, 2025.
This collector's set will be attached with a 64-page art book, interviews from the Japanese cast and director, six art cards, and a fabric poster. Moreover, fans of the BL series 'Heaven Official's Blessing' can expect to see the release of its Season 2 Blu-ray, a copy that will accompany three limited edition art cards. A Note on Other February Releases: The BL collection series 'One Piece' - Collection 36, 'The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash', 'BUCCHIGIRI?! ', and many others will be hitting shelves in February. 'Jujutsu Kaisen' meanwhile is still streamable on Crunchyroll, along with more must-watch hits from Fall 2024, such as 'Dragon Ball Daima', Re:Zero: Starting Life in Another World Season 3, and Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest. Anime enthusiasts have much to be excited about in the new year.
