Selena Gomez gives fans a sneak peek of her upper arm tattoo

Recently, Selena Gomez gave fans a sneak peek of her tattoo marking her 2017 kidney transplant. Back then, the singer had undergone a kidney transplant to treat a complication. While talking about the same during an interview Selena had revealed that, she had gotten the date of her surgery inked on her body. She had also added that her friend and kidney donor, Francia Raisa, has the same tattoo.Since then fans were aware about this special tattoo, but this appears to be the first time they actually got to see it.

Selena dropped her latest album and also shared some behind-the-scenes photos of herself from the shoot of her new music video, and fans got a rare glimpse of the black inking she spoke about in 2017. Selena’s kidney transplant was a result of her suffering from Lupus (an autoimmune disease that causes the body’s natural immune defenses to attack healthy tissue). She also had to undergo chemotherapy in 2015, and struggled with mental health issues. Selena’s tattoo commemorates her struggle during that phase of her life.
