A friend of R&B singer D4vd was arrested this week in Montana after authorities said he failed to appear as a witness in a Los Angeles homicide investigation involving the death of a teenage girl. The arrest pushes a long and unsettling case back into focus, one that has moved slowly, quietly, and under strict court secrecy while investigators work to untangle who knew what and when.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Neo Langston, 23, was taken into custody on Thursday, January 22, at a residence in Helena. Langston is a social media streamer who has appeared publicly with the singer. The arrest was based on an out-of-state warrant issued by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Court records show Langston was wanted for failing to appear as a witness before a grand jury. He was booked into the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center and held without bond before being transferred into LAPD custody. Helena police confirmed they assisted detectives from the LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division but said little else.
The arrest is tied to the ongoing investigation into the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
She was 13 years old when she was last seen in Lake Elsinore in April 2024. Months later, on September 8, her decomposed remains were found inside the front trunk of a Tesla that had been impounded at a Los Angeles tow yard.
The discovery sent shockwaves through the case and raised new questions about how the girl’s body went unnoticed for weeks.
Tesla linked to singer under investigation
Authorities said the Tesla was registered to D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke. Burke, now 20, has been identified by law enforcement sources as a suspect but has not been charged. Investigators have said the case remains active and that more than one person may have been involved in disposing of the body.
“The cause and manner of death remain pending,” Los Angeles County Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Odey Ukpo said previously. “The law precludes us from doing so while the court order remains in this case.”
A grand jury has been convened, and several witnesses have already testified. Prosecutors have not said whether Langston was the witness previously described in court as uncooperative. Court filings do not explain what information investigators expected him to provide.
Langston, who previously streamed under the name NeoTheAsian, often appeared alongside Burke in photos on social media. D4vd rose quickly through viral hits on TikTok and YouTube before signing with Interscope Records.
No additional arrests have been announced. Authorities have not shared a timeline for possible charges as the investigation continues behind closed doors.
