Scarlett Johansson and the late
Robert Redford had previously worked together when the actress was just a child. In an interview in 1998, when Scarlett was 13 years old, she shared her experience working with the actor. She had mentioned how the two had a “connection” and they communicated properly which also helped the film being loved. This interview bit goes viral again as celebs and fans pay tribute to Redford who passed away on Tuesday, at the age of 89.
Scarlett's experience of working with Robert Redford
During the interview, the actress shared how amazing her experience had been working with him both as an actor as well as a director. She said, “Working with him was amazing. I think it really helped that he was an actor, as well as a director, because we could communicate so well. And I guess you can't really call it actor talk, that wouldn't be the right word, but it was just a connection between us”.
She added that, “We understood each other”, while talking about the issue of how some directors are unable to communicate and share what they want from your character. She praised Redford at the time and had stated that this problem was never present with the actor, as he knew how to say what he wanted.
Earlier this year, in May, the actress had yet again recalled what it was like working on the sets working along with a legend like
Robert Redford. She had shared with Deadline that the actor was “actor-focused and patient”. She also added that he was one of the few directors who took the time to get to know the actress first in order to figure out how they would work on set.
