The Closing Ceremony of the Summer Olympics in Paris will feature performances from Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, according to sources. The show will include a mix of pre-recorded and live segments from Los Angeles. Ben Winston, known for producing major live events like the Grammy Awards and Adele’s special in 2021, is coordinating the music segments with French producers.
With recent security concerns surrounding live music events—highlighted by a foiled terrorist plot during Taylor Swift’s concert in Vienna—officials in Los Angeles are also ramping up security measures. The location of the performances will be kept secret due to heightened security risks.
Tom Cruise will kick off the Closing Ceremony with a dramatic stunt involving his motorcycle in France, followed by a pre-recorded segment where he parachutes near the Hollywood sign. After Cruise’s stunt, the performances by Eilish, Snoop Dogg, and the Chili Peppers will take center stage.
The choice of these artists reflects their strong connections to Los Angeles. Billie Eilish, a major pop star, is a local native whose film, “Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles,” highlights her ties to the city. Snoop Dogg, a prominent figure in West Coast rap, also hails from the area and has been a popular on-air personality during the Paris Games. The Red Hot Chili Peppers, who emerged from L.A.'s punk scene in the 1980s, are well-known for their hit “Californication,” which celebrates Los Angeles.
At the end of the ceremony, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass will accept the Olympic Torch, marking the start of the countdown to the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles, which will run from July 14 to July 30.
