We have seen Indian ladies draw rangoli before their houses everyday but creating rangoli for exhibition is a different experience shares Prof Mahendra Khajekar from Raja Ravi Varma School Of Art for whom rangoli is not just an art but an emotion.
Mahendra Khajekar who is an international rangoli artist, displayed his work at Garware Community Centre recently in the city.
Along with the display of his work, he also conducted a workshop for the ladies and children who are interested in the art of rangoli making. At the session he taught the basics of drawing rangoli and the importance of shading in rangoli. The use of colours, designs, importance of dark and light colours according to occasion which it has been drawn for was explained by the eminent artist.
