Actress Anubha Sourrya and her mother Puspa Panda took a pledge to donate their bodies after death
Odia actress Anubha Sourrya and her mother veteran actress Puspa Panda have recently pledged to donate their bodies after their deaths. Both of them signed a will with a Cuttack-based NGO, working in the field of creating awareness for organ donation and SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
The young actress said that she and her mother had earlier discussed about donating their eyes. But recently while Anubha was in Puri to attend an event, met an official of the non-profit organisation, who convinced her and her mother to donate their bodies. “After he explained us the need of donating our body or organs, we realised the fact that our bodies can be used for better things than being burnt or buried. We had an option of donating our organs or entire body, we preferred to donate our body for study purposes,” said Anubha.
