Sports meet saw city youngsters come out with flying colours

Bhubaneswar girls came first in the under-14 category in the 49th KVS National Sports Meet of chess players held at KIIT campus while the local boys came third in the under-19 category. Bijayalaxmi Barik came first while Anoushkaa Mohanty was third in the under-14 category of this indoor event. The Bhubaneswar boys under-19 team also came third in Kho-Kho and girls’ yoga team came first in under-17 category.The two-week KVS National Meet concluded on Monday, which saw over 5,000 children and their teachers and guides gather at the event. The successful players were felicitated in the valedictory ceremony attended by Achyut Samanta — founder of KIIT and KISS and Member of Parliament.
