Front-row view of a Polo match
It was an action-packed Sunday at the Jaipur Polo Ground during the finals of the Indian Open Polo Championship 2009.
Three riders were dismounted from their steeds as ambulances had to be called in to tend to the fallen players. “I was so scared, it has never happened to me ever,” said polo player Sameer Suhag of the Equisports/Rissala team, after he toppled from his horse, as he clashed head on with his opponent from the Jindal/Elevation team, Simran Shergill.

The match came to a halt for a few minutes as Sameer was seen taken to the ambulance in the stand area.
Argentinean Mioguel Saragia got badly hurt and had to step down while the army ambulance was called in to tend to him. In a hattrick of injuries, Shamsher Ali, of Jindal/Elevation was also injured. All in a day’s work, boys?
