When there’s a roaring storm not many brave it, right? Wrong, ’coz at the Miranda House college fest– Tempest 2009 – we saw students in hordes braving the chill outside to be a part of the Tempest.Did you ask what triggered the storm? Well, some rock band performances and competitions brought about the storm of talent.
MUSIC WAVES: Four music bands – Jester, Five8, Groove Adda, Faridkot – were quite an attraction for the youngsters.
They played songs like After Sex Marathon, Punctuation, Bubble War, No Such Thing, Shakira Shakira, Desi Girl and Twist that generated waves of frenzy amongst the college crowd. Faridkot band belted out numbers like Janiya, Jashan, Madho and Titliya– a song dedicated to girls.
FUN DO: That’s not all as students also made a beeline for activities like shooting, tattoo art, tarot card reading and express haircuts. Boys too got an entry here, all thanks to the Tempest 2009. On one of the days during the fest, we saw some guys standing outside the college gate, trying to arrange passes. On the third day, the authorities had to literally lock the gates, as the crowd inside the college became a little too much for the venue to hold. Later, after much cajoling the authorities decided to allow screened entries. But when the gate opened the crowd outside the college barged in.
