In an upset of sorts, Samir Suhag’s Sahara Warriors beat Naveen Jindal’s Jindal Panthers to claim the cup for the first time. The losing team has won the trophy thrice in the last decade.

Besides Indian players, the match also saw a considerable foreign presence, with several international polo players part of the teams. During the tread-in, spectators joined the organisers in stomping the divots and evening out the ground.
