Sashakt Foundation, EFKON India observe road safety week with awareness drives

Sashakt Foundation and EFKON India observed road safety week from January 11-17, with special activities like poster making and slogan writing undertaken across 10 schools of Noida. Awareness drives at traffic signals were also organised to raise awareness on the importance of traffic rules and guidelines. A culmination event was organised by Sashakt Foundation on January 17, 2023, at a school in Noida.The drive was attended by officials from the GB Nagar Traffic Police department, EFKON India and school authorities. The event included an awareness session conducted by the traffic police. Road safety quiz and a street play were also a part of the programme. The event concluded with a pledge on road safety by the students.

Sashakt Foundation launched a Road Safety Awareness initiative in November 2022 with the support of EFKON India. The project will continue till March 2023, focusing on creating awareness on road safety through interactive sessions with students across 10 schools in Noida. In addition, Sashakt will be conducting awareness drives at major traffic signals in Noida and the Jewar toll plaza on the Yamuna Expressway to sensitise citizens on the importance of following road safety rules.
The project comprised a team of youth leaders (YLs) from Sashakt Foundation who conducted sessions at multiple public locations. The team received support from GB Nagar Traffic Police department, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) and Jaypee Infra to implement the project. The team will continue to undertake this work through various awareness activities like nukkad naatak, community rallies and awareness drives.
