Hult OnCampus Round was recently organised at Shri Ram College of Commerce. Hult is a social entrepreneurship challenge released by the Present Bill Clinton each year in collaboration with the United Nations, inviting students from across the world to solve the most pressing social problems using their business skills. The Hult Prize winners receive USD 1 million at UN Headquarters, New York as seed funding for their startup.
This year's challenge was to provide meaningful employment to 10,000 youth within the next decade. The event saw a massive participation from around 180 teams comprising more than 700 students. The teams presented innovative models to generate emploment through social sectors like energy, health, sanitation, handicrafts, transportation and tourism. Project Vaayu based on an innovative eco-friendly air purifier won the OnCampus Round, now heading towards the Regional round.
