On the birth anniversary of Dadasaheb Phalke, a play based on his life, titled The Forgotten Film, was staged at the recently concluded Centenary Film Festival 2013.
Directed by Aamir Raza Hussain and his wife Virat, the play showed that phase of Phalke’s life when he returns to India to make a film, but doesn’t get an actress for it and has to ask a man to play the actress in his silent movie.
