The third Global Film Festival organized by Marwah Studios this year attracted over 5000 people in Noida in a span of three days. The festival that was recently held, focussed on children’s films.
“I have been to almost 50 countries to attend film festivals of different kinds and genres but I’ve never seen the kind of energy and enthusiasm that I saw at the third Global Film Festival Noida 2010,” said Supran Sen, secretary general of the Film Federation of India, the apex body of the Indian Film Industry.

The festival screened 227 films from different countries in seven segments including “400 Blows,” “Mouchette” and “Bicycle Thief” by filmmakers like Bresson, Vittorio de Sica, besides Truffaut.
“It also hosted a total of 42 events during the three-day global festival,” informed Sandeep Marwah, president, Marwah Studios Enterprise.
Some of the events included launching of Asian School of Performing Arts, a seminar on “Commercial Viability on Children’s Films,” performances by students of a media institute, besides screening of films made by children. The festival also premiered a forthcoming feature film, “ Baaru – The Wonder Kid.” “Guru” and Oscar winning film, “Smile Pinki,” were also screened.
The festival was attended by filmmakers like Sai Paranjpye, Sudhir Mishra, Kundan Shah, Pankaj Parashar, film critic Khalid Mohammed, director general, Film Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Kuldeep Sinha, actresses Rituparna Sengupta and Sharbani Mukherjee, singer Ashok Masti, film producer TP Aggarwal and a filmmaker from Portugal, Joan Ponces amongst others .
At the end of each day during the three-day fest, gala dinners were held where filmmakers, students and media professionals interacted with each other.
The festival director, RK Singh, informed that the fourth Global Film Festival that would be held next year will showcase some of the feature films released in 2011 across the globe.
