Rangoli artist wins national award in Delhi

Speed painting performer and Rangoli artist, Gurudatt D Vantekar represented Goa at the National level and won an award for Best Rangoli. He was presented the awarded by Arjun Ram Meghwal (Minister of state for culture, Bikaner, Rajasthan) and Meenakshi Lekhi (Minister of state for culture, Delhi).
The event was organised by Ministry of Culture, New Delhi under the banner of Azadi ka Amrit Mohotsav. "It was a great feeling to win this award where over five lakh participants showcased their talents.

the event theme was Unity in Creativity, and Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. "I had to complete the rangoli within 24 hours. The competition was in three stages. District level, state level and national level. It was all online submission but the award ceremony was held at Nehru Park, in New Delhi," says Gurudatt. He adds, "There were a total of three competition. 1) Rangoli Making, Lori writing and Desh Bhakti Geet writing."
