Clean and Clear Hyderabad Times Fresh Face 2011 at TMSS Degree College saw a horde of students show off their vocal and dance skills. With numerous students crooning numbers from different Bollywood films and private albums, the girls tried to wow judge AL Nitin Kumar, the director of the film “Lotus Pond”, with their styles. If someone sang a filmi number, then another chose to showed her patriotic side by singing “Yeh Mera Vatan”.
Dancing to songs from movies like “Criminal” to Katrina Kaif’s latest item number “Chikni Chameli”, the girls showed of their talent.
If those entertaining the judge with their jhatkas and matkas weren’t enough, then some of the girls tried to wow him with their speeches on education, women development and the kind. But what really set the mood right, and got the crowd cheering on, was the stand up comedy act in Hyderabadi Hindi put up by some of the students.
Bagging the Clear Hyderabad Times Fresh Face 2011 top slot was Tabasum Unnisa, a BCom final year student who crooned “Choti Si Asha” from the film “Roja”. Following her was the first runner — up Tayyaba Begum who had sung “Jawani Janeman” from the Amitabh Bachchan starrer “Namak Halal”. But it was Mallika Taranum who had her friends and fellow classmates cheer for her the most, as she grooved to Katrina Kaif’s “Chikni Chameli” and managed to bag the second runner-up slot.
