About 50 people were part of the peaceful protest to demand justice for the 27-year-old who was raped and murdered recenlty on the outskirts of the city.
A discussion on issues like the importance of
sex education for children, criticism of pop culture elements that promote rape culture followed. “A larger discussion about everyday practices that promote rape culture is the need of the hour. We must be aware to not discriminate on the basis of gender. That is how rapes and violence against women can be stopped,” said Laksmi Jyothi, a city-based working professional who was part of the protest.
