While the bride looked resplendent in a baby pink and purple khara dupatta with heavy embellishments, the groom complemented her in a golden sherwani and sehra. The stylish groom, Asad made a grand entry mounted on a horse, as the baaratis energetically danced around him to some peppy marfa beats. Asad’s cousins and close buddies were seen shaking a leg as the baraat made its way to the Mirza household.

Filmmaker Farah Khan, who is a close friend of the Mirza family, and Azhar’s ex-wife
Sangeeta Bijlani, were also part of the grand wedding. “Anam and Asad make a lovely couple. Both these families have known each other for over three decades now. Anam’s father, Imran bhai used to play cricket in his younger days with Azhar. In a way, both families were already very close even before the wedding, so we are glad that we have now become one big, happy family,” says Khaliq-Ur-Rahman, Asaduddin’s phupha (uncle), speaking to Hyderabad Times.

Tollywood star Ram Charan’s wife Upasana Konidela, who was part of Anam’s ‘Team Bride’, says the wedding was a merry, family affair. “Both Sania and Anam are close to me and our family and I’m delighted to be with her on this special occasion. It was a very private and chilled out affair. What stood out apart from the dancing and the ceremony, was the delicious food on offer. Usually, it is the biryani, which is the highlight of any Hyderabadi wedding and it was no different this time around as well. However, the Irani chai that was served was the highlight for me. Piping hot, with a tinge of ginger, it was the perfect winter beverage,” says Upasana.
