The ongoing Marathi Natya Spardha, a theatre marathon for the enthusiasts has become the talk of town lately. Under this series which is on from last Saturday, and will carry on till August 13th, aplay Çall Me Captain Robert' was staged by the artistes of Well and Well Cultural Society. Written by
Sharad Joshi and directed by Shrikant Bhogale, the play set in the period of
World War II brings out the sufferings of the soldiers under the Nazi regime.
To defeat the Germans, British plan out a covert mission called OPeration Green, under the leadership of Captain Robert. However, the platoon carrying out the operation gets caught by the German troops and are put through torture to extract information from them. The platoon however refuses to divulge any information and every soldier claims himself to be Captain Robert! The story unfolds gradually and culminates with a thrilling end.
