Kites soar high at Kovalam beach

The skies above Kovalam beach town was taken over by kites recently, turning them into a multi-coloured canvas. The kites were hoisted in various sizes and shapes, as part of the second edition of the Barrier Free International Kite Festival organised by the city-based NGO Helping Hands (H2O), in association with the One India Kite team. It was held to spread the message of inclusive spaces for the physically challenged. About 40 varieties of kites were hoisted by about 100 kite enthusiasts, including those from abroad.
